Class Registration

How do I register for HCD courses? (TOP)

Returning student do the following:
Go to the class registration page.
(New students will need to start the enrollment process before class registration, please go to the enrollment page for additional information)

Does HCD offer any financial assistance? (TOP)

Horizon College is not eligible for state or federal financial aid at this time.

What courses should I take? (TOP)

What do HCD course numbers mean? (TOP)

The course number identifies the course category, the division (upper or lower), and the program.
Example: BL100P means: BL=Bible category, 100= Lower division, L=Evening Class

Course Categories (prefix):
BL = Bible, TH = Theology, MN = Ministry, GS= General Studies, EL=Elective

Course Numbers
100-299 = Lower Division (first and second year students)
300-499 = Upper Division (third and fourth year students)

Course Program (suffix)
D=Day Class, P=Evening Class, L=Online Class, E=Extension Campus Class

What course should I start with? (TOP)

Start with the course that best suits your schedule and preferences.

May I audit or take a course for non-credit? (TOP)

Yes, auditing or registering in a non-credit status is available for selected day and evening courses. Non-credit students must register and pay prior to the registration deadline.

Do I have to complete the HCD application package to register for a class? (TOP)

Yes.
All students are required to have the application process complete prior to the registration deadline. With the exception of requesting transfer credit, transcripts will need to be submitted for evaluation by the end of your first semester.

Classes

How many HCD courses may I take? (TOP)

You are welcome to register for as many classes as your schedule allows.

What if I am unable to finish the course? (TOP)

If you are unable to finish a course you must submit a drop / withdraw form to the HCD registrar as soon as possible. Your drop / withdraw date is recorded when the Admission Office receives the drop / withdraw form. Your refund, if any, is calculated by the date received.


How do I find my grades?

Final grades are available 4 weeks after the last day of class. Please contact  HCD by email, hcdenver@comcast.net for grades.

What if I need assistance during a course? (TOP)

Academic Assistance is available from your Instructor first then the Student Dean.

How do I get textbooks? (TOP)

The teacher will give you the names of any books needed for class on the first day of classes. Students may purchase from one of many online distributors. We have found half.com is a good used book resource.
Note: The most efficient way to find the correct book online is to use the ISBN Number.

Can I read through the course syllabus before I decide to enroll? (TOP)

Yes, we post our course syllabi on the Academic Information area of the web site. Course Syllabi are usually available 1 week prior to the start of the course.

Billing

How much does an HCD course cost? (TOP)

Tuition
Credit status: $145 per unit (3 unit class = $435)
Non-credit status: $50 per unit (3 unit class = $150

Application Fee

One time fee for credit students: $25.00

Student Fee

Credit Students for 1 semester: $10.00
Non-Credit Students for 1 semester: $5.00


Late Registration Fee: $25.00
